The Temple Oak

Estimated at 350 year-old, our beloved Chinquapin Oak is located at the corner of Temple Ave and Brookside Parkway South Drive.

In 2023, it was measured to be 88 feet high, 20 feet 3 inches in circumference, and an average crown spread of 126.5 feet!

Urban oak trees provide their communities with important ecosystem services like shade and improved air quality. Their long life and durable structure give urban oaks the opportunity to become a source of beauty, history, and community for generations to come!

A little late post but here's some photos from our Holiday Luncheon. Delicious food by @gomezbbq, box game, and holiday karaoke!

Please join The Springdale Neighborhood Association for a festive gathering at our neighborhood community center, John Boner Neighborhood Center. Enjoy delicious catered food, great company, and lots of holiday cheer. This Sunday luncheon is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season with friends and neighbors. Food and beverages will be provided, home made pies and sweets for dessert, but if you're wanting a specific drink or to share more sugary cheer please bring whatever you'd like!! What has become an annual tradition, the Box Game (open to suggestions for a cool name for it) will be played, some musical chairs, maybe holiday song karaoke?? Christmas casual attire. All ages, friends, and neighbors are welcome. Please RSVP by Wednesday so we can ensure we have enough food. All are welcome even if no RSVP. Please forward to all your neighbors!

A little Thanksgiving week euchre fun. Come join!

Whoops, sent an email that said tonight in the subject. It's not, meeting is next week!

Come meet your neighbors and clean up Springdale! Join us at 9am at 1105 N Tacoma Ave for coffee and donuts. We will then go block by block, street by street, alley by alley, and Keep Springdale Beautiful. If you can’t join us, please take the time to do a clean up around your home on your own. The packer truck will start at 12pm, so we ask neighbors that if they want their leaves and debris bags picked up, to please clean up and have your bags out on the sidewalk or easily seen in the alley before then - volunteers will be following the packer truck going through the neighborhood and throwing any trash inside. If you want to just throw stuff in the truck, meet us at 12 at 1105 N Tacoma Ave - we will definitely need volunteers for this portion. We plan on focusing not just on trash but also on trimming up any foliage covering stop signs, blocking driver's sights, or blocking sidewalks. Bring your garden shears!
